Question 1: What is your method for pressure cleaning?
Answer : After the correct mixture of cleaning solution pre-spray is applied to the surface being cleaned, we follow that up with a medium to high water pressure to safely and completely remove all contaminates and residue.
Question 2: What is used to remove mold and mildew?
Answer : Typically a mild mixture of chlorine and water is used to loosen and breakdown the algae followed by low to medium pressure to remove residue.
Question 3: Will pressure cleaning harm my asphalt shingle roof?
Answer : Yes and No. If too much pressure is used with a chlorine mixture, then yes. We use non-chlorinated cleaning solutions for these types of roofs. After the roof is pre-sprayed, a low pressure rinse is used to safely remove all algae. Chlorine weakens the asphalt holding the granules and shortens the life of the shingle.
Question 4: What about broken tiles?
Answer : Prior to cleaning we will inspect the roof surface for any existing damage and notify you before cleaning. If in the rare instance tiles crack during the cleaning, we will repair with a tile adhesive or replace.
Question 5: When is the best time to pressure clean?
Answer : As soon as algae becomes visible. The longer algae is allowed to grow, the likelihood of paint pealing and discoloration occurring on painted surfaces increases.
